Anglican Church of Canada Finally Accepts Reality

Church abandons efforts to convert Jews, who are satisfied with their own faith.

This is not the most current of news, but it is rather interesting, and rather timely, as America lurches towards a Christian Nationalism similar to what the Anglicans envisioned for Canada.

The Times of Israel reported last year that the Anglican Church of Canada, long an annoyance to Jews with their conversion obsession, has at long last admitted it was a failure. Without the use of force or the connivance of government, converting Jews to Christianity is a hopeless mission.

About time, considering that this Canadian conversion obsession wasn’t exactly finding many takers. History has shown the senselessness and futility of centuries of not accepting Jews-or anyone else- for who they are, and trying to change them into something different. When one group claims that only their way is the right way, and others-Jews or anyone else- must change or pay the price, it’s pretty easy to connect the dots to the centuries of persecution against the outsiders.

The obsession with converting people to one’s own faith is not at all a universal feature of religions. I lived in Asia for a few years, and neither Buddhism, Hinduism or Sikhism showed any interest in pushing their religion on others, though anyone was welcome to study and join on their own.
