Because when you get right down to it, the Palestinian leadership does not want a "two state" solution; they want one Palestinian state. Why do you think they scream "From the river to the Sea?" It's a horrible strategy, as everyone sees through it, and all it has done is push a Palestinian state at least a generation into the future.
