Who said anything you allege, other than that, yes, Hamas is the government in Gaza, and they control the Health Department there. Aside from that, where does it say that anyone is lying, let alone Palestinians?

What the piece says is that the Hamas health agency gives a combined figure of deaths, not distinguishing between combatants and others. That's a fact, no one disputes it. Then, almost everyone-Israel, Hamas, US-agrees that close to 20,000 Hamas fighters have been killed.

Finally, you need to understand that "genocide" is not decided by whether anyone survives; it is an intentional plan to eliminate an entire people. What the piece says is that as regrettable as loss of life may be, it is because Hamas started a war and uses human shields. It points out that in actual genocides, there are no polio vaccines or aid trucks. If you want to know what an actual genocide looks like, read up on how Assad, with Russia and Iran, killed a half million sunni. Read about the hundreds of thousands of Muslims carpet bombed by russia in Chechnya. The 900,000 displaced Rohingya from Myanmar. the Kurds being slaughtered in Turkey. Or the genocide being perpetrated in South.

Except for Russia, all of the genocides listed were or are being carried out by Muslim nations (in the case of the Rohingya, Muslim nations tolerate it and do nothing to help the victims) , a fact you anti-Israel folks conveniently ignore. Why? Because then your bogus argument that Gaza is a genocide falls apart instantly.
