Yes, Florida Governor Ron “Meatball DeSantis let the proverbial cat out of the bag. (Not one of the cats JD Vance yells about in his misogynistic rants.)

Proposition 4 will restore the full panoply of rights women enjoyed under Roe v Wade.

Despite numerous frivolous legal challenges to placing the proposition on the ballot, it will be decided by Floridians on november 5, and polls and political temperature taking indicates it will reach the 60 percent it needs to become part of the State Constitution.

In this instance, one can’t argue with DeSantis. He may be vicious, but don’t let his Ivy League education trick you; he’s not stupid.

DeSantis knows that the bans on women’s right to choose is not supported by a majority will, but by six religious extremists on the US Supreme Court. Governor Meatball knows that freedom of choice has won everywhere it’s been on the ballot, including some ruby-red states. DeSantis may be an extremist, but he knows how to read the tea leaves: if Florida falls to the forces of freedom of choice and women’s rights to control their own bodies, it will be almost impossible to stem the tide back to Roe v.
