JD Vance Wants Pardons for “Peaceful Protesters.” None Were Arrested
“If you protested peacefully on Jan. 6 and you’ve had [Attorney General] Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice treat you like a gang member, you should be pardoned,” Vance told “Fox News Sunday.”
In that case, no need for any pardons. People who were peacefully protesting outside the Capitol building were not arrested. Those who broke in cannot be called “peaceful,” as they are at best trespassers, at worst, insurrectionist burglars.
There have been well over a thousand guilty pleas and trial convictions. Evidence of criminal behavior was produced, judges ruled on it, juries decided, appeals courts can correct any legal irregularities. Vance has offered no proof of any innocent “peaceful protesters” arrested outside the Capitol, who did not enter illegally, broke no other laws, yet were criminally prosecuted.
JD Vance is an unprincipled liar who can’t even be straight about his own background. He is not and never was a “Hillbilly”; he is an Ivy League graduate and lawyer who was a Silicon Valley investment banker who also spent time in Hollywood and on Wall Street. He was a Never Trumper until his lips tasted Trump’s ass. No surprises that he’d keep lying, because that’s all he knows how to do.
