Joe Biden Was Always Israel’s Friend. Don’t Let Anyone Tell You Different

President Biden was the best friend the Jewish people have ever had in the White House, and that’s no mean feat after Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.

One of the great calumnies of the recent election was the falsehood that President Biden was not strong enough or supportive enough of Israel in its time of need.

This is, as President Biden is prone to declare, “malarkey.”

American Jews have shown how we feel about Joe Biden: we twice gave him approximately 75% of our vote.

For over twenty years, President Biden has been close friends with Rabbi Michael Beals of Wilmington Delaware. The rabbi first met then Senator Biden in 1993, when the Senator attended the funeral of a congregant in the synagogue where Rabbi Beals had just been installed. It was the funeral of an older woman who donated $18 to Biden in his first campaign, and did so every time he sought reelection. We Jews understand that the number 18 is of great significance; so did Joe Biden. We also understand the kind of man Joe Biden is, and we call such a person a “mensch.”

Joe Biden chose as his Vice President-and then his putative successor- a Black woman married to a Jew, who celebrates Jewish holidays, strongly supports Israel, and is known within her blended family as “Mamala.”

It’s established that Joe Biden has probably the greatest empathy and bond with Jewish Americans, to a degree shared…
