Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire. Hezbollah and Iran were humbled. That’s great for peace.

The ceasefire the US brokered between the governments of Israel and Lebanon is a true game changer, all positive.

The negotiations were not between Israel and Hezbollah, only between the governments. Hezbollah, while an Iranian surrogate and terrorist group, claims to also be a legitimate political party, and is part of the Lebanese government. However, aside from being informed of what the two government agreed upon, Hezbollah didn’t appear to have much say or even input.

That’s no surprise. The relentless Israeli assault on Hezbollah resulted in the decapitation of their leadership, the destruction of their communication systems, the death of thousands of terrorists, and the destruction of most of their missiles, though they still have many given by Iran. Southern Lebanon and Beirut suffered enormous damage, mostly to Hezbollah sites and facilities. The world…
