Okay, but when Israel offered to end the fighting if Hamas would lay down their arms and release hostages, doesn't that show magnanimity? It would have spared murderers, rapists, kidnappers and arsonists only because it would save lives to do so. Even the terrorists indicted by the US for murdering 40 Americans on Oct 7 would be safe. Hamas refused, and said they are sticking with the goal of wiping out Israel. (How's that working out?)

I don't want to see any Palestinians suffer, but it is Hamas that uses them as human shields and refuses to end the fighting. It is Hamas that steals food meant for Gazan civilians.

Netanyahu is a problem Israel must resolve. Hamas is a problem the people of Gaza should solve, but I understand that these people cannot stand up to both Hamas and Iran. So as long as Hamas refuses the magnanimous offer to save their lives if they stop killing others, it is only Israel that can oust them, and so long as Hamas insists upon using human shields, more innocents will die. Israel will not allow rockets to be fired, or terrorists to rearm.
