People can write all the articles they want, and make all the prediction they wish, but the hard and fast reality is this: Israel and the US, along with the rest of Western democracies, are linked to the hip. Most Americans by far support Israel's right to exist and to defend itself, but like it or not, there's no majority favoring a Palestinian State, and while Netanyahu is unpopular among Americans, his unpopularity pales in comparison the low opinions we have of Hamas and the PA. (Gallup poll, May 2024.) Americans have not forgotten 9/11; we are in a constant war against terrorism, and helping Israel destroy Iranian surrogate terrorists is part of waging that war.

The folks screaming in the streets and causing riots on campuses are a small minority. The only thing those radicals have accomplished is to push back a Palestinian State by at least a generation, because they've revealed how radical and dangerous would be such a state at this moment. Every road block, every forced campus closure, every instance of screaming out Jew hatred, has hurt the poor people of Gaza, but the hate-driven extremists will never see that.
