THE FAKE MAYORKAS IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES SHOULD BE DISMISSED AS SOON AS THEY REACHE THE SENATE

Henry Cuellar, the outlier Democrat who’s really a Republican, wants a quick trial. That’s because he wants to help Trump by holding a political show trial. It won’t work. The Senate is in Democratic hands, and Tom Suozzi just proved voters are now aware that GOP concerns about the border are not sincere.

Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas is the worst member of the Democratic Congressional Caucus, at least the worst in supporting the party. He is particularly out of touch with Democrats on immigration bills; he is a former Border Patrol agent, still close with their pro-Trump union, and he sides with the Republicans against Democrats on a host of issues, especially immigration. He has squealed through the last few primaries by less than half a percentage, and his game plan is simply to get by the primary and then reap all the Republican votes he can solicit.

It comes as no surprise that Cuellar would want a “quick trial” on the Constitutionally-deficient impeachment articles, which fail to specify a “high crime or misdemeanor,” and simply recite policy differences. In a case like this, the proper means of disposal is by a motion to dismiss, which will be brought early and will pass overwhelmingly. (I can think of at least five or six GOP Senators who will join all Dems plus the independents in voting to dismiss.) In any event, the last person the Democratic Senators should listen to is Henry Cuellar.
