You write in a civil fashion and try to avoid incendiary statements, which i highly commendable, especially these days
Nevertheless, I must disagree. I live in America, and the public and both political parties are overwhelmingly pro-Israel and vehemently against the terrorists. Anti-Israel candidates almost always lose elections. The anti-Israel demonstrators represent a tiny fraction of the US public.
As for Europe, pretty much the same. Ireland screams about Israel, but beat and harass Muslim immigrants. In the rest of Europe, Islamophobia has infected all major parties, far worse than in America. If there is to an end to the suffering of all people in the region, it has to start with the elimination of the terrorists.
Right now, Hamas could accept Israel's offer to lay down their arms, release the hostages, and their lives will be spared. That ends the fighting, the IDF leaves, But if you keep insisting that relief is around the corner, the world is coming to help, that is not going to happen. Right now, the UN says that it will take 350 years to rebuild Gaza.I believe there will be a Palestinian State consisting of Gaza and the WEst Bank, but that will require a dedicated passage through Israel.
After Oct 7, and after the antisemitic outbursts from the useful idiots for Iran here in America and Europe, neither Israel, America, the EU, or the Arab States are interested in such a state for at least a generation.
That's the legacy of October 7: tens of thousands of dead human shields, a destroyed society, a generation or two setback for state. It is cruel to deceive Gazans into thinking that if they follow Hamas and fight on, they gain a thing except more death, more destruction, a longer wait for a state. You know I am right, so join me in urging the world to pressure Hamas to surrender
